William Baring (1881-1961), worked for the Meissen factory from 1911 to 1945 as a freelance painter with a fixed salary. The shaping and staffing of the so-called original pieces “I. Urstück” were carried out, supervised or revised by the artist himself. The pieces decorated by Baring usually have simple, objective or timeless shapes.
